Workforce Readiness and Career Pathways
The overall goal of the program is to provide students with employability skills and technical training that will enable them to succeed in the very competitive Boston job market. This program serves over 200 students annually in four distinct tracks, summarized below.

Track 1: Customer Service
This six-week training program is for students wishing to obtain an entry-level position in customer service, hospitality, or retail. The three program components are Customer Service Skills; Job Readiness; and the Math, Reading, and Locating Information sections of the Career Ready 101 program.
Track 2: Office Skills and Technology
The six-week training program includes three components: Office and Technology Skills; the Math, Reading, and Locating Information sections of the Career Ready 101 program; and a 45-hour evaluated internship. Upon program completion, students receive the National Career Readiness Certificate and are encouraged to complete an optional medical terminology course that offers an associated certificate. This program is intended for those aiming for full-time employment and with interest in office careers in the health-care sector.
Track 3: Individualized Career Coaching
Participants are typically ABE and HiSET or ESOL students. Services provided include resume and cover letter preparation; networking and information interview sessions; online application skills; job-search skills; and 30-minute weekly sessions with a career coach.
Track 4: Post Placement/Already-Employed Services
Offered to current NDEC students or alumni. Available services are similar to those in the Individualized Career Coaching track.
