Dear Friends:

Welcome to Notre Dame Education Center, a premier adult education center.  Since opening our doors in 1992, we’ve served more than 9,000 adults from all over the Boston area who are seeking the skills they need to make a better life.  I hope you’ll find our web site interesting and informative.

As you navigate the site, I’m sure you’ll feel the sense of pride that we have in our faculty and our students.  Our commitment to excellence stretches back more than 150 years, all the way to when the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, our founders, first began teaching in the Boston area.  The Sisters have always understood the life-changing power of education, not just for students but also for their families.  We carry on this proud tradition with several key programs.

  •  The Workforce Readiness Initiative offers employability skills and technical training so students can successfully navigate the 21st-century job market.

  • Adult Basic Education (ABE) and HiSET programs strengthen the academic skills  students need to earn their high school equivalency credential.

  • Our Alternative High School Diploma Program, for students ages 16 to 21, allows young adults to take classes and earn a diploma through a partnership with Cathedral High School.

  • We offer four levels of ESOL classes to serve immigrant adults from more than 30 different countries.

  • In addition, we offer citizenship classes and LEAD (Learning English at a Distance), which allows students to study at home or any place where they have access to the Internet.  I’m proud to say that NDEC is the hub for the state of Massachusetts for ESOL Distance Learning.

With a combination of dedicated, talented staff and determined, resilient students, NDEC is taking the best of our past and linking it to the skills needed for today’s world.  We welcome your interest!  You can learn more about us by “liking” us on Facebook, following us on LinkedIn, or following us on Twitter @ndecboston.

Sincerely,

Mary Rose Durante, Esq.
